This is a small, colourful, spray-painted wooden art panel and is hand numbered as '#1 yellow smiley (eroded)'.
This design is my own variation of the classic Smiley Icon, which has been hand stencilled onto a shaped wooden panel and with simulated appearance of partial eroding of the paint surface. To me the image reminds me of the feelings of nostalgia, it being happy and warm, but also of these old memories being worn through time.
I use different layers of hand-cut paper stencils to spray paint the original smiley design on to the front surface of the wooden panel which is then uniquely hand sanded, before having installed two sunken keyhole hangers into the back so that the piece has an option of two display angles if hanging your art on a wall, using only a single screw head.
